Travis Kelce offers a tip of his hat Tom Brady and the team behind Netflix The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.
On his Wednesday episode New heights Podcast presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, Travis and Jason Kelce answered a fan question about whether they would ever be willing to receive the roast treatment themselves.
“That was incredible,” Travis said of the live broadcast, which he admittedly only saw in parts online. “I cried all day just watching the clips and everything.”
He continued: “I commend everyone because no one seemed to have their feelings hurt. It looked like everyone was enjoying it at the same time, man, it didn’t faze me because I was on everyone’s nerves.” People left.
Travis later praised Brady and his NFL colleagues for their willingness to “lose heart.”
“Tom was a damn good guy knowing he was dealing with damn aggressive walkers, man.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was not in attendance at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, but still managed to catch some of his own opponents during the taping.
“Kansas City, you say your stadium is the loudest,” Brady said began his remarks at the podium. “It helps if all your fans are 14-year-old girls.”
The joke alludes to a large influx of Swifties who have entered Chiefs Kingdom in the last year amidst Travis’ relationship with Taylor Swift.
Brady didn’t stop there, adding: “In honor of Tay Tay, let’s take a look at the Chiefs’ eras: 50 years terrible, five years good. Shake it off.”
It’s worth noting that Travis has been with the Chiefs since 2013 and has won three Super Bowl rings in the last five years with the team.
At New heightsJason called the spectacle of Brady’s roast “pure entertainment.”
“I’m really glad they did it, but I just can’t get the roasts done,” he added. “I don’t understand why people do this.”
Jason admitted, “Maybe I take myself too seriously.”
The Philadelphia Eagles alum seemed less willing to participate in his own roaster, saying he would only allow it if he could choose the roasters.
“I would choose people I wouldn’t mind getting into a fistfight with, like family members,” he joked. “Like, dad, roast me, but I’m going to beat my dad when the cameras turn off.”
He, of course, drew the line when he left his wife of six years. Kylie Kelceinvolved.
“The only person I wouldn’t let on stage is Kylie. She has way too much,” he said. “I get roasted by Kylie every day. I don’t need them to go on stage and do that.”
As for Travis, he was ready for a good old-fashioned roasting with some of his “favorite comedians,” including Andrew Santino, Dave Chappelle, Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross and Kevin HartWHO hosted Brady’s event.
“I would love for Kevin to go up there and just rip me in half,” Travis gushed.
Whether or not this ever comes to fruition, Travis says there’s already a lot of hate circulating online.
“If you’re open to it, just go online,” he joked to Jason. “You can get fucking roasted. Many of these jokes have already been said. Just look at the comments, it will humble you.”
One person who was less impressed by the jokes at her expense was Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen.
A source told ET on Tuesday that “Gisele was upset and hurt by some of the jokes about her and her relationship with her [boyfriend] Joaquim [Valente]and her wedding to Tom during his roast.” The source added: “Her main concern is always her children and her family and she wants to protect them.” She found some of the jokes tasteless and disrespectful.
ET spoke directly with Hart before his red carpet set, with the comedian admitting he didn’t expect to be on Brady’s close friends list for much longer.
“I’m being mean today,” he said Jumanji actor joked. “I’m not being nice today, Kevin…I expect that after today I’ll lose my relationship with Tom. I’ve already dealt with that.”
The Elevator The actor said that he and Brady had a “good run,” but that he was focused on being the best roaster he could be.
“I don’t think he has a real idea of what the world of roasting is, so it gets a little ugly, but it’s fun!” he said. “And I think the world needs that. The world needs to see some, you know, some – some transgressive humor that’s done with a tasteful approach and where people on both sides are having a good time.”
