The current third generation of the Toyota Fortuner now needs to be replaced. Currently, the company has not announced any new design for the next generation model of the Fortuner. But enthusiasts have created renderings of what they believe could be the new Fortuner. Recently another new rendering of the Toyota Fortuner was shared on X by Torque India. And from appearance we can say that it looks like a small Land Cruiser.

Toyota Fortuner fourth generation
Since its launch in the Indian market in 2009, the Toyota Fortuner has won the hearts of SUV enthusiasts. Over the years it has built a strong following. And if this rendered car becomes a reality, it could further increase the Fortuner’s popularity.
This particular rendered model is inspired by the mighty Land Cruiser models. We can see that the design language is characterized by robustness and confident presence. At the front there is a further development of the design with a very striking and impressive dashboard.
This spruced-up Fortuner received a new large grille with two thick horizontal elements. Even attentive observers could see similarities between the Toyota Tacoma and this SUV. It also gets rectangular air vents and chunky headlights.
This particular design departs from the current sharp and sleek design language of the third-generation model. Along the side profile, it gets angular wheel arches with thick black panels.
Additionally, the alloy wheels also look a lot sturdier than the ones we currently see on the third-generation model. The edgier overall profile pays homage to the design language of the Land Cruiser we know and love.
At the back, it looks completely different than the current generation SUV. It features vertically arranged LED taillights, a rear spoiler and a chunky rear bumper. Once again, the boxy design language has adopted the sleek lines of the current model.
Upcoming Fortuner gets hybrid engine
Recently, Toyota launched the Fortuner hybrid version in South Africa. According to reports, the same model will also be launched in India. The new Fortuner Hybrid uses the same 2.8-liter diesel engine paired with a mild hybrid system.
The current generation Fortuner hybrid produces 201 hp and 500 Nm of maximum torque. It is equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system. Most likely, the company will continue to offer the same hybrid powertrain with the launch of the next-generation model.

Just a few weeks ago it was reported that the company was working on a smaller and cheaper alternative to the popular Fortuner. According to reports, this new mini-Fortuner could be called Toyota FJ Cruiser or Land Cruiser FJ.
Additionally, reports state that the company will share its platform and powertrain options with the recently launched Toyota Hilux Champ pickup truck. The IMV 0 platform on which both vehicles are built has a long history and formed the basis for iconic models such as the Hilux, Fortuner and Innova.
