Before I even unpacked this Le Wand, it already made its first impression. The box was surprisingly heavy. I wondered if there were a few accessories or several toys in there, but no. The Le Wand is a full-size wand, making it one of the largest wands I’ve tested at 11.42 inches long. The size means it can be awkward to use alone depending on where you want to get to, and the weight can lead to tired wrists. Most of the time, though, the extra length is a benefit, and the weight keeps the wand from vibrating your hands too much. Sometimes unibody wands and sex toys feel like they vibrate your hands more than anything else, but that’s not the case here. You can feel the vibrations in your hands, but they are minimal – a good quality for anyone with carpal tunnel.
It should come as no surprise that the Le Wand isn’t a toy that’s all about discretion or subtlety. As soon as you turn it on, the wand practically roars and its motor comes to life so violently that it practically resists your grip. Even at the lowest of the 10 vibration settings, it’s strong enough to provide surprisingly strong stimulation through clothing.
Like the original wand, this toy is best enjoyed through indirect stimulation, making its vibration intensity a welcome feature. The button layout is familiar – the standard choice found on most wand vibrators, which is a good thing. There are buttons to increase and decrease vibration intensity and a button in the middle to cycle through vibration patterns. You turn it on by holding the intensity increase button for a few seconds and turn it off by holding the intensity decrease button for a few seconds. There are no deviations from the norm here, which means there is no confusion when trying to feel for the keys in the dark.
