Theresa Nist Was Spotted Wearing a Wedding Ring During Her Golden Bachelor’s Divorce

Theresa Nist is in the middle of a divorce from Golden Bachelor Gerry Turnerbut she’s not quite ready to part with her yet Neil Lane Diamond ring.

On Friday April 12, Theresa, 70, was seen wearing her custom-made wedding ring, set with 18 round brilliant-cut diamonds, after it was revealed that Gerry, 72, had filed for divorce just three months after their televised wedding had.

Earlier that day, Theresa told a reporter Juju Chang during her and Gerry’s Friday performance on Good morning America that she must return the jewelry at some point, per the couple’s agreement with ABC.

“I think that’s the rule, I think I have to give this ring back,” she revealed, noting that the thought of it was “sad.”

Theresa and Gerry explained during the segment that while they still loved each other, their long-distance life was the main reason for their breakup.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heartfelt conversations,” Gerry said during the show. “We took a close look at our living situation and collectively came to the conclusion that it was time for us to dissolve our marriage.”

He continued: “What strikes me most in our conversations is how committed we both are to our families. When we look at these situations, I think that living apart is simply best for the happiness of each of us.”

Us weekly confirmed that Turner had filed to end the couple’s marriage in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, citing Friday as the date of separation. He cited the “irretrievable failure” of their marriage as the reason for the separation and there is an existing marriage contract.

While the former Golden Bachelor Although the couple never lived together under the same roof, they previously expressed that they dreamed of doing so one day in South Carolina.

“One of the things that I think fate has played a role in is the possibility of where we end up living. For the past few years, when my family got together, I’ve talked about moving to South Carolina, and I’ve been toying with that idea. Theresa agreed, adding that she envisions buying a large home in the future so that her adult children and grandchildren can feel comfortable visiting.

Gerry and Theresa met and fell in love in the first season of The Golden Bachelorwhich ended with them getting engaged during the series’ final episode in November 2023. On January 4, 2024, the two tied the knot in front of ABC cameras.

It was the second marriage for both reality stars. Gerry was previously married to his high school sweetheart Toni for 43 years before she passed away in 2017. Theresa, on the other hand, was married to her high school boyfriend Billy for 42 years before he died in 2014.
