The stone got into an argument with Ryan Reynolds when they worked on a film together years ago – and while it wasn’t an explosion fight as suspected, it was a real thing.
Production sources with direct knowledge of the incident tell TMZ that Ryan – who starred in their 2021 action film “Red Notice” alongside The Rock and Gal Gadot — actually confronted Dwayne while filming in 2020… at the height of the pandemic.
While The Wrap – who first reported this – claimed it was a “big fight”… Our sources say it wasn’t nearly as dramatic, but that RR actually had a conversation with his co-star.
We’re told there’s some truth to the suggestion that Ryan was upset that The Rock was repeatedly filmed late… something that came to a head when Ryan spoke to him about what we said Affected the filming schedule and production at large during a complicated time.
Remember… amid COVID, there were strict protocols in place on film sets that made it difficult to film as is. So with The Rock lagging behind, it eventually became a problem, according to our sources.
Anyway…we’re told that the two men spoke and that Dwayne returned to work the very next day – filming continued without any further problems. We’re told Ryan and The Rock didn’t let their headbutt moment derail them…they continued with the movie and pushed afterward.
As for where things stand now… a source with direct knowledge told us that everything was fine – and that any concerns that arose at the time were professionally resolved. More importantly, we’re told their chat didn’t torpedo the film at all. As for the exact number of hours The Rock was reportedly late… our sources say it’s greatly exaggerated.
This can be seen by the fact that Red Notice 2 is reportedly in the works at Netflix… as it was a huge success for the streaming giant and still holds a huge record there.
FWIW, The Rock is accused of repeatedly running late on a new film he’s working on for Amazon… but the studio flatly denied this, telling The Wrap that there were no problems on set due to The Rock and that this was the case, they were grateful to have him on board as a partner.
Netflix also did not address reports of a conflict with Ryan, calling DJ a “consummate professional.” We have also contacted Amazon and Netflix…no response yet.
