The Premier League has announced its shortlists for the April Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards.
There will be a new Player of the Month after last month’s winner Rodrigo Muniz was not nominated and six players from six different clubs will be vying for the award.
Likewise, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola will relinquish his crown. Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola are both hoping for the penultimate award of the season.
In his five games for Manchester United Bruno Fernandes managed an incredible six goals and one assist. Unfortunately, this form wasn’t enough to save the Red Devils from failing to win four of those games.
On the other side of Manchester, If Guardiol He developed really well with City. His return of two goals and an assist helped Pep Guardiola’s side keep their title hunt on track, as did the two clean sheets he came away with.
Kai Havertz He established himself as Arsenal favorite with four goals and three assists in six games in April, including a brace against former employers Chelsea and two goals in the derby triumph over Tottenham.
Crystal Palace endured a surprisingly ruthless April, led by the five goals of Jean Philippe Mateta. The Frenchman scored twice in wins against West Ham and Newcastle after scoring against Manchester City earlier this month.
The top scorer in the entire Premier League in April was Chelsea Cole Palmer, who scored seven goals in four appearances. He scored these goals in just two games – three against Manchester United and four against Everton – and also added an assist against Sheffield United.
He may have conceded four goals against Palmer, but Jordan Pickford still enjoyed a sensational April in goal for Everton. The England centre-back kept four clean sheets, including in the crucial derby triumph over Liverpool, and only two goalkeepers managed more than his 23 saves.
Liverpool saw their title aspirations slip in April, but the same cannot be said Mikel Artetais Arsenal. The Gunners won five of their six games, including big wins over Chelsea and Tottenham, while keeping four clean sheets.
With four wins from six games in April, Everton allayed their lingering relegation fears. Sean Dyche Won clean sheets against Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Brentford and secured a respectable 1-1 draw away to Newcastle to secure their place in the Premier League for next season.
pep Guardiola led Manchester City to a perfect April. With five wins from five games, the Cityzens are fighting for control of the title race with a streak of 19 goals scored and just four goals conceded.
