Motorola introduces the new G Stylus 5G for 2024, upgraded with an improved stylus experience and a reinforced premium design for $399.
As stated in the press release, the Moto G Stylus expands its capabilities with a 6.7-inch pOLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola adds that the device’s Full HD Plus resolution ensures what you see feels brighter, sharper and clearer. Additionally, the company touts the phone’s multitasking capabilities and says users can take notes while watching a show.
Speaking of the stylus, the device’s larger contact area and improved software are intended to improve stylus mobility and provide a smoother experience. Motorola has implemented a new user interface for using pen-specific features. Additionally, users can add a set of “favorite apps” for the pen that will appear when it is taken out.
The overall design of the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is another topic of conversation. The company states that the back is made of vegan leather. The post adds that those looking for a phone at a discounted price won’t have to compromise on design.
The front of the device is shielded by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 and has an IP52 water-repellent rating.
This is supported by the phone’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm.
Similar to last year’s edition, the 2024 G Stylus 5G features a vertical dual camera array. The post states that the “versatile” setup includes a 50MP primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture and Ultra Pixel technology. The company adds that such improvements should improve the camera’s sensitivity to light.
OIS (optical image stabilization) ensures that our recordings remain steady even when moving. The main lens is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view. There is a 32MP centered punch-hole selfie camera on the front.
Like its predecessor, the latest G Stylus features a large 5,000mAh battery that is said to provide consumers with power for more than a day. The charging cycles are handled by the 30 W TurboPower for wired charging and 15 W for wireless charging. Motorola suspects that the device can have enough energy “for the day” in just thirty minutes.
Users will find Android 14 out of the box. Internally, the device is offered in the following RAM/memory configurations: 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. However, the Moto G Stylus has a microSD card slot, allowing users to expand their storage by up to 2TB.
The NFC-enabled device features a 3.5mm headset jack, a USB-C port and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
For US consumers, Motorola says the 2024 G Stylus 5G is available “generally unlocked” at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and its website (motorola.com). Users can grab the new phone on May 30 for $399 in Scarlet Wave and Caramel Latte colors. Folks in Canada can snag the phone the same day as US consumers for $499 CAD.
The company adds that there are plans to make the device available “in the coming weeks” to additional services such as Metro by T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Boost Infinite, Boost Mobile, Consumer Cellular, UScellular, Google Fi Wireless and more.
