The new Swift launches tomorrow: here’s everything you need to know about its design, features, engine and performance, safety and expected prices
The entire country is excited about the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift. This new edition is the fourth generation model, which features a comprehensive redesign of the exterior and interior. Today we tell you about all the changes we will see on the all-new Swift 2024. Make sure you read to the end because there’s a lot to unpack.
2024 Swift Platform and Dimensions: Longer and taller
First, let’s start with the platform and dimensions of the new Swift 2024. Like the previous model, the upcoming Swift is based on the same HEARTECT platform. The new Swift is now 15 mm longer, 40 mm narrower and 30 mm higher. However, the wheelbase remains the same at 2,450 mm.
Exterior design
Front end
As for the design highlights, let’s talk about the front-end design of the new Swift. For the 2024 model, the company has given it a completely new front apron. The biggest highlight is the new front grill. This time it gets a large honeycomb pattern in glossy black.
There are also brand new and slimmer looking headlights. These top-spec lights get a single-projector headlight setup with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The higher-equipped variants will have LED lights. However, the lower-spec variants come with a halogen setup.
In addition, the LED daytime running lights on the lower variants are replaced by L-shaped chrome bezels. Another new highlight on the front of the new Swift will be the positioning of the Suzuki logo. Unlike the previous model, it is placed on the radiator grille and not on the grille itself. The top variants also get LED fog lights, which the low-spec variants have to do without. The car also gets a completely new hood, creating a new body line.
Side profile
Speaking of the new body line, it is a new, stronger shoulder line. It runs throughout the entire exterior of the Swift, from one side of the hood across the car to the other side.
In addition, the A, B and C pillars are darkened. The company will offer this starting with the VXI variant. The base variant LXI gets pillars in the body color. Another new design element on the new Swift is the addition of more traditional door handles on the rear door. The C-pillar/door mounted handles have been done away with by Maruti Suzuki.
In addition to the new style of door handles, the 2024 Swift will also feature a set of all-new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. These bikes are only offered with the top variant ZXI+. The ZXI variant gets the same design but comes in a monotone silver tone.
The mid-range variants VXI and VXI+ are offered with 14-inch steel wheels. These four-hole steel rims are painted in matt black color on the mid-range variants. And on the lower LXI variant they are in silver.
Rear end
As for the rear, the new Swift also gets a completely new design at the rear. It will feature new LED taillights that get a clear lens that offers a much more premium appearance. You also get new C-shaped interior pieces that highlight the Swift’s new look.
The rear bumper has also been completely redesigned. This time the rear view camera is mounted on the trunk lid instead of the bumper. In addition, the Swift will be equipped with four parking sensors. The camera is only offered in the top variants. However, the sensors are offered from the VXI variant onwards.
2024 Swift variants and colors
Speaking of variants: The new Swift 2024 will be offered in five variants. These are the variants LXI, VXI, VXI+, ZXI and ZXI+. The VXI+ variant is an all-new addition and many believe it could become the most popular and affordable variant in the new Maruti Suzuki Swift range.
As far as color choices are concerned, the new Swift is offered in various colors. The new Swift’s solid colors include Frontier Blue Pearl Metallic, Cool Yellow Metallic and Burning Red Pearl Metallic. Here are the expected colors of the Suzuki Swift
There will also be Super Black Pearl, Star Silver Metallic, Flame Orange Pearl Metallic, Caravan Ivory Pearl Metallic, Pure White Pearl and Premium Silver Metallic. Additionally, the two-tone paint schemes will include blue with black roof, red with black roof, yellow with black roof and white with black roof.
Interior updates

Now let’s move on to the new Swift’s interior updates. The 2024 Swift gets an all-new interior design that is very similar to the Baleno, Brezza and Fronx. It comes finished in an all-black color scheme with brushed silver accents on the top variants.
The main highlight will be the addition of the new 9-inch Smartplay Pro infotainment screen. It is offered with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple Carplay. It will also offer Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The car also features an Arkamys speaker setup.

This special 9-inch touchscreen is only offered with the top ZXI and ZXI+ variants. The mid-range variants, on the other hand, will come with a 7-inch touchscreen. The LXI variant does not get a screen or speakers.
Other features of the new Swift in the top variant include a wireless charger, USB-C ports, push-button start and stop, and electronic foldable ORVMs. Automatic climate control will be standard on all variants of the new Swift.
2024 Swift Security Features – 4 stars in JNCAP
The seats have new side bolsters and now offer more support. It will most likely also come with 6 airbags as standard. Other safety features could include ABS, EBD and ESC. It could also be equipped with brake assist. The international model also gets ADAS but is not offered in India. Japan’s NCAP has given the new Swift an impressive 4-star rating.
2024 Swift engine and drivetrain
The main highlight of the new Swift will be its brand new power plant. The 2024 Swift will feature a Z12E 3-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine will also receive a 12V mild hybrid system. The new Z-Series engine will replace the previous model’s proven 1.2-liter K-Series engine.
This newly developed engine will produce a maximum power of 82 HP and a torque of 112 Nm. The power is 8 hp and the torque is 1 Nm. However, there is a good reason for his sacrifice. More on this below. The 2024 Swift will come with a 5-speed manual transmission and most likely a 5-speed AMT.
Expected price?
Since the loss of power is a good thing, the new Swift will now offer a mileage of 25.72 kmph. This is a significantly impressive improvement over the current model’s 22.38 kmpl. The overall increase is about 15 percent. The company has currently opened bookings for the model priced at Rs 11,000. As far as pricing is concerned, expect a slight premium over the previous model’s price range of Rs 6.24-9.28 lakh.
