Get ready for an exciting mystery in a galaxy far, far away! To celebrate May 4th, Disney+ unveiled a brand new trailer and poster for its highly anticipated Star Wars series. The Acolyte. Mark your calendars because the live-action adventure premieres on Tuesday, June 4th with a two-episode premiere exclusively on the streaming service.
The existence of The Acolyte: Jedi is threatened in a new trailer starring Jodie Turner-Smith, Lee Jung Jae and Carrie-Anne Moss, released on Star Wars Day
The Acolyte immerses viewers in a thrilling investigation led by a respected Jedi Master (played by Lee Jung Jae). A shocking crime forces him to confront a dangerous warrior from his past, played by rising star Amandla Stenberg. As the investigation progresses and more clues come to light, her search for the truth leads her down a dark path. Sinister forces emerge and reveal that not everything is as it seems.
The series features an impressive cast including Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung Jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and the legendary Carrie-Anne Moss.
Leslye Headland, known for her work on the acclaimed series Russian dollcreated The Acolyte. She also acts as an executive producer war of stars Veterans Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana join the team as co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim and Rob Bredow round out the production team.
To add to the excitement, Headland takes the helm in the series premiere and directs the first two episodes. Directors Kogonada, Alex Garcia Lopez and Hanelle Culpepper complete directing duties for the remaining episodes.
The award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his spooky film scores such as Exit And UsHe brings his musical expertise The Acolytewhich increases the tension even further for the audience.
The wait is almost over as the series premieres on June 4th!
