The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) reports that the woman and child in the Civic were transported to hospital following the accident, but fortunately the injuries were not life-threatening. None of the male occupants of the Dodge suffered injuries.

Fortunately, the occupants of the American car were able to escape uninjured. Photos of the Challenger after the crash show significant damage. One of the Dodge’s wheels was torn off in the collision, and it also narrowly avoided hitting a tree.

Although they suffered no injuries, the Challenger passengers were confronted by residents in the neighborhood after the crash. They insulted the driver of the Dodge and claimed excessive speed caused the accident. According to a witness in the video who held the driver by the neck, the road speed limit of 40 km/h (25 mph) was not being observed.

The RCMP reports that speed was actually one of the contributing factors to this incident. However, police have also identified “improper turning” as a possible cause of the accident. While the investigation is ongoing, impairment has been ruled out as a factor.
