Yogasleep Hushh 2 Portable Sound Machine for $30: The Hushh 2 is another great portable sound device to consider. It features six tones, three timer options, and a beautiful night light to gently illuminate your bedside table or guide you to the bathroom. The brand says this model is its most durable sound machine. I didn’t throw it down the stairs, but it survived falling off my nightstand.
My little Morpheus for $100: The Morphee above is great for adults, but this version is cute and designed for children ages 3 to about 10. Senior Reviews Editor Adrienne So’s 7-year-old loves the stories that take children on meditative journeys with an animal companion. The inventory tends to fluctuate here.
Lectrofan Evo for $57: Another solid option from the brand that’s our top pick. The Evo has a few more sound options (e.g. ocean sounds) and looks nicer, but we prefer the Classic’s buttons. They are better suited for handling in the dark. This has also increased in price recently.
Dreamegg D1 for $36: This plays many of the same sounds as the D11 portable, with a handful more fans and a spectrum of sounds. The control panel is matte and feels soft. You can set playback continuously or for 30, 60 or 90 minutes. I tried the white version, but there are a few other nice colors on the Dreamegg site. The edge also lights up.
Snooz Sound Machine for $100: The Snooz machine has a sound: the soothing whir of a fan, thanks to the real fan spinning inside. That’s the sound I like best, so I guess there’s nothing to mess around with. It also has a nice timer fade in and out feature so it doesn’t get in the way. The biggest issue is how expensive it is for a noise compared to other machines on this list.
Encalife Sound Machine for $85: This small sound machine has a blue light that you can adjust your breathing to to relax. You’ll probably find it on sale a lot too, which is good because I wouldn’t spend $85 on it. A very similar model is available under numerous brand names for significantly less money. According to Encalife, it is a rip-off and not a rip-off from the same manufacturer. We can’t confirm this, but either way, there are better options on this list for less money.
