Charity Lawson And Dotun OlubekoThe future looks bright after they get engaged The Bachelorette.
“I left [Dotun’s] “Last chance date and that’s when I made the pure managerial decision: ‘This is it,'” Charity shared exclusively Us weekly in August 2023, when she knew Dotun was the one. “And as we know, I had a very good connection with Joey [Graziadei, my runner-up]. So there were a lot of things at play leading up to those moments, different things changing every day.”
While Charity was previously torn between Dotun and Joey, she ultimately sent the tennis pro home on the day of the proposal. Dotun then popped the question with a Neil Lane sparkler.
“Charity, you inspired me. “You showed me that a good thing can really be a good thing,” Dotun gushed during his televised proposal in Fiji. “The love we have is perfect. So would you, Miss Charity Lawson, do me the honor of making this fairy tale a reality?”

Consecutive dates
Dotun was the only one Bachelorette The participant of the 20th season receives two individual appointments – in consecutive weeks. A week after her bungee jump in Stevenson, Washington, Charity invited Dotun to run a marathon with her in New Orleans.
Charity told me later Us in August 2023 that their first date was “life-changing.” She added: “The journey was beautiful but I did it [my final] Decision at his last chance appointment.”
Sweets from the hometown
Dotun was initially disheartened that his parents were unable to attend his hometown date due to their previously planned vacation in Nigeria. Charity wanted to get to know her husband’s siblings and grandmother before her future in-laws made a surprise appearance. Dotun’s mother even announced that she would host a lavish Nigerian wedding if Charity chose the consultant.
Dotun and Charity’s families met in person for the first time – after “many FaceTimes” – during After the last rose in August 2023.
“They love each other! It was so much fun,” enthused the child and family therapist Us. “They just cut up, which is exactly what we envision. .. He has become as close to my brother as I imagined. We’re obviously excited about the future and can’t get over all this commitment and what’s to come.”

Soulmate vibes
During Dotun’s last date in Fiji, he offered Charity a “scavenger hunt.” Bachelorette Trip. The hunt ended with a locket containing each of her baby photos.
She said yes!
After Dotun proposed, Charity gave him her final rose. “You made me feel alive. You made me believe in love again. “You made me feel so valued and seen,” she said during the episode. “And so, Dotun, as I stand here at this moment, I want to have an eternal future with you. I see you as my husband. I see you as my future. I see it so clearly. I have no doubts. I don’t question it.”
August 2023
During the couple’s appearance on After the last roseDotun informed Charity that she would be joining the cast of Dancing with the stars Season 32.
“We both talked about it and I didn’t really know it was actually going to happen, but he’s obviously so supportive of it, which I admire,” she said Us, noting that Dotun would be moving to California during the dance competition. “And he’s my biggest fan, and that’s great. …We will do it together. He just won’t be the one dancing. I’ll be up there, [but] He’ll come with me.”
Charity added that Dotun “will always be my priority” throughout her stay in the ballroom.
October 2023
Dotun was the charity’s No. 1 cheerleader DWTS Ballroom what caught her eye.
“I wanted to give Dotun his flowers… because your support this season alone has been truly insane, but since you came into my life it has changed for the better,” Charity gushed in an Instagram Story after the couple arrived from the ” Most Memorable Year” night where she won the first 10 of the season. “And so I just want to thank you for pushing me.”
She added: “No fact, just before I continued, Dotun walked up to me and told me, ‘Leave everything on the floor.’ So it was a very special moment and definitely got me going [expressing] all emotions. So, thanks, baby.”
April 2024
Charity and Dotun shared a tribute to each other on social media in honor of their first anniversary as a couple. “Even though the odds are against us…You are the love I didn’t expect but has changed my life for the absolute better. The way you love me and who you are proves to be true day after day that sometimes ‘a good thing is just a good thing,’ Charity wrote alongside a sneak peek of her engagement photos on Instagram. “I love you so much and am forever grateful for you!”
For his part, Dotun wrote via Instagram that he was celebrating “the 30th.” April 2023 remembered like it was yesterday,” adding, “In the moments before my proposal, I was sitting in my hotel room in Fiji, unsure if you would accept me.” I took off my suit in our villa, Staring and wondering at my new fiancé and hoping that the love we felt would last outside of this fantasy.”
He continued: “A year later, fantasy has become our reality. Your endless love is an experience, thank you for showing me how it should feel. Proud of you, proud of us. Every day we learn more that a good thing can just be a good thing. Cheers baby 🫶🏾.”
