The All-new 2024 Maruti Swift Arrives at Dealerships Ahead of Its Launch on May 9

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the all-new Swift hatchback in India in the next few days. The car manufacturer has already started production and the new Swift has also arrived at dealers. Over the last few days, we have come across several posts and videos of the new Swift parked in stockyards in various parts of the country. We now have a new set of images showing a mid-range variant of the Swift in a dealer’s stockyard.

The images shown here were shared by Team-Bhp on their website. We see a white Maruti Swift parked along with other cars from the manufacturer. We see cars like the Maruti Fronx and Grand Vitara parked behind the Swift.

There are several reasons why we believe the car shown here is the mid-range variant. The hatchback lacks a fog light, there is a chrome strip in the headlight block instead of an LED daytime running light and there are no alloy wheels.

Like all other Maruti cars, the manufacturer will offer the Swift in LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI and ZXI+ variants. The one shown here looks like the VXI or VXI(O) variant. We see projector headlights, a glossy black outline on the front grille with a plastic grille. The design or pattern on the grille is similar to what we see on Fronx and other Maruti cars.

Here you can see the clamshell hood, the black inserts in the area of the fog lights and the blackened underrun protection. If we look at the side profile, we can see indicators mounted on the ORVMs. In the image we see the outline of a floating touchscreen infotainment system. It remains to be seen if Maruti will offer a smaller screen on lower variants.

Here you can see the body-colored door handles, the blacked-out pillars and the electrically adjustable ORVMs. As we move to the rear, we notice the grayed out taillights with LED lights in them. This definitely gives the car a sporty look. On the rear bumper we see four parking sensors. We don’t see any rear parking cameras or a rear window wiper and spoiler in this variant.

The hatchback’s exterior design is similar to what Suzuki offers in the international market. As expected, Maruti has left out many features, including ADAS, to keep the cost of the car under control. The Maruti Swift has been one of the most popular hatchbacks among buyers in India since its launch in 2005.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is offered exclusively with a petrol engine. It is a brand new 1.2 liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that produces 80 horsepower and a maximum torque of 112 Nm. This new engine produces less power and torque compared to the older generation model.

However, the engine is tuned to suit city use and achieve better efficiency. Maruti will offer the new Suzuki Swift with an optional 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti will also introduce a CNG version of the hatchback at a later date. Bookings for the new Swift have already begun.
