The All-carbon Pagani Utopia is the First to Ship in the United States

  • Pagani only builds 99 examples of the V12-powered Utopia.
  • The carbon fiber finish of this Utopia is complemented by an interior also covered in carbon.
  • The Italian hypercar is offered with a six-speed manual transmission and an automated sequential gearbox.

The first Pagani Utopia in the US has just been delivered, joining an enviable collection that also includes a Koenigsegg Regera, a Bugatti Chiron, a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari and a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9-9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });

It’s been about 20 months since Pagani introduced the Utopia in Italy, and the first customer deliveries began last year. Although it took a while to land on American soil, it appears to have been worth the wait.

The hypercar’s owner opted to cover the exterior with exposed carbon fiber, an expensive option from the factory. It also sits on beautiful silver wheels and has gold brake calipers. Running across the center of the hood, across the roof and along the engine cover is a maroon piece of carbon fiber trim with gold accents.

When Pagani introduced the Utopia, the interior was dominated by many aluminum parts. However, the owner of this example had much of the cabin covered in carbon fiber. This includes the dashboard, air vents, steering wheel, instrument cluster surround and transmission tunnel. We can also see brown leather on the door panels, steering wheel and dashboard and suspect that similar leather is hidden under the seat covers.

The Utopia can be ordered with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an automated sequential gearbox. While both shift knobs and shift mechanisms look almost identical, this Utopia appears to have a sequential gearbox rather than a six-speed gearbox. Still, we’re sure the 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 makes it a real joy to drive.

Only 99 copies of the Utopia are expected to roll off the assembly line. Prices start at $2.19 million in the US, but we suspect some units will likely cost more than $3 million once customers tick some of the option boxes, such as the one for the exposed carbon fiber finish.
