The 2025 Genesis GV60 Facelift Was Discovered Hiding Its Redesigned Bumpers

  • The facelifted Genesis GV60 will adopt small design changes
  • The electric vehicle is expected to adopt the larger 84 kWh battery pack from the Hyundai Ioniq 5
  • Interior updates are expected to include new infotainment software and improved connectivity.

Genesis is preparing to launch the redesigned GV60, three years after the original’s debut. The electric crossover will likely benefit from slight visual improvements focused on the front and rear bumpers, along with a slightly larger battery pack and some interior updates.

Genesis accidentally showed us the facelifted GV60 a few months ago in a now-deleted video that revealed most of the planned design changes. The prototype discovered by our spy photographers is completely covered in camouflage, but the holes in the vinyl confirm that it is a redesigned model.

The spy shots show part of the lower bumper intake with the ADAS sensor and a honeycomb pattern, all but confirming the earlier leaks. The same applies to the revised side intakes of the front bumper, which take on a more conventional look. The prototype’s upper and lower split headlights feature six and seven LED modules, respectively, instead of the previous model’s five. These could also be temporary units to be replaced with more modern LED graphics.

Further highlights include the aero-friendly wheels and the optimized shape of the rear spoiler. We also expect Hyundai designers to refresh the look of the rear bumper and possibly add new options to the color palette.

The interior is expected to benefit from the latest infotainment software and improve the usability of the digital cockpit. A welcome upgrade could be the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a feature noticeably missing from the current model.

Hyundai introduced the redesigned Ioniq 5 last March, giving us a good glimpse of what we can expect from the upcoming Genesis GV60 and Kia EV6. The electric crossovers use the same E-GMP architecture, so it’s safe to assume the Genesis will feature the newer and slightly larger 84 kWh battery pack, compared to the existing 77.4 kWh unit . This change will likely result in increased range, combined with possible aero improvements thanks to the “Active Air Skirt.”

There is no information about any changes to the electric drives, so we assume that these will be adopted. However, Genesis is likely to expand the lineup with the performance-oriented GV60 Magma, which offers more power and a sharper chassis setup.

The facelifted Genesis GV60 is expected to launch in Korea in the coming months. The rival Tesla Model Y could appear on the US market in time for the 2025 model year.
