BCCI announces India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup
On April 30, Team India finalized its 15-player squad for the T20 World Cup. Experienced batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli secured places in the squad. Yashasvi Jaiswal was included in IPL 2024 despite his poor performances. Jaiswal could open with Rohit in the upcoming tournament.
Suryakumar Yadav, the top-ranked men’s T20I batsman, has been selected to lead the middle order alongside wicketkeepers Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have secured a place in the squad despite their recent poor form. Pandya was also made vice-captain.
Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj have been selected as pacers for the bowling attack. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were mentioned as specialist spinners. Hardik Pandya will act as the fourth pacer in the team. Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja are the spin all-rounders in the squad.
