Former Australian cricketer Simon Katich has become the latest to announce his expected 15-member squad for Team India for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Currently covering the 2024 Indian Premier League season, cricket experts across the world are making predictions about India’s squad. Players like Aakash Chopra, Sanjay Manjrekar, Tom Moody and Murali Vijay among others have already made their probable T20 World Cup squads.
Simon Katich is the latest to announce his squad before the Indian selection committee announces the official 15-man line-up.

Simon Katich announced his expected squad today in a video on the official IPL broadcaster Star Sports. In it, Katich made some obvious decisions and there was nothing shocking about his 15-man roster. The Australian was with a reliable and proven top team and also described his squad as a very balanced team.

Simon Katich revealed for the first time his expected playing XI for the Indian team for the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. He went for the very obvious opening selection of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, accompanied by Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav at Nos. 3 and 4.
Simon Katich went with the middle class Delhi capitals Captain Rishabh Pant at No. 5 and also retained him as the keeper of the wickets. At number 6 and 7, Katich was paired with KKR hard hitter Rinku Singh and MI skipper Hardik Pandya, two players who are not at their best this IPL season.
The runs have not reached the flow one would expect from Rinku and Hardik, but every Indian fan will be hoping that they return to form in the backend of IPL 2024. The last recognized lower-middle order batsman, Simon Katich, is another out-of-form all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
The CSK The all-rounder has endured a difficult IPL season, especially with the bat. In some of the previous expert teams, Jadeja was not given the role of finisher due to his poor strike rate at the international level.
Katich picks Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh as bowlers
In the bowling department, Simon Katich named China’s Kuldeep Yadav as the only wrist spinner in the playing eleven as well as the 15-man squad. There was once again no place for Yuzi Chahal as Katich believes Kuldeep will perform better in the US and West Indies.
Leading the bowling front is Jasprit Bumrah and he will be accompanied in the fast bowling department by left-hander Arshdeep Singh. Just like Chahal, Simon Katich has not included Mohammed Siraj in his expected starting XI and squad.
Sanju Samson, Harshit Rana, Shivam Dube and Mayank Yadav as replacements for Katich
Finally, Simon Katich picked Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson and CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube as batting reserves from the reserve list. As for the bowling backups, Katich backed young fast bowling sensation Mayank Yadav of LSG and Harshit Rana of KKR to make it to the 15-man squad.
