A baby is not the only thing Suki Waterhouse delivers this year.

Weeks after Waterhouse, 32, gave birth to her and Robert Pattinson‘s first child, that Daisy Jones and the Six Star surprised fans on April 11 with “two new songs from the next album,” she wrote X. She shared links to “My Fun” – a piece of sunny rock that could have come from an episode of Daisy Jones – and “Faded” – a murky piece of bedroom pop.

The mood of the songs is night and day. “My Fun” is a celebration of love and channeling Mongoose Jerryis “In the Summertime” boast about how great it is to find someone who understands you. “My goodness, you’re so pretty/I fell to the ground/You helped me get back up/And kissed my lips raw,” she sings, before proclaiming, “It feels good to find someone to love me loves it, just like I love my fun.”

Meanwhile, “Faded” shows the sun setting on a love story. Performed against a graying indie-pop soundscape, Waterhouse sadly reflects on the fact that things aren’t going well with her nameless lover. “You never should have changed and faded away,” she sings. “The colors you painted were perfectly simple / I know you used to hate it when I said that / All those days we remember / Fading away.”

“My Fun” and “Faded” are Waterhouse’s second and third singles of 2024. In January, she released “OMG” along with a Edith Piaf-inspired music video that featured her wandering through a greenhouse that, oddly enough, was part of it Diplo.

“We started with half of the song and then put it aside,” she said Rolling Stone in an interview in January. “We said, ‘It’s not working.’ And then two months went by and we were back in the studio and suddenly this chorus came out with this energy. When I’m trying to put a song together it’s such a nervous state because you always feel like you’re on the edge of something.”

The trio of songs comes from Waterhouse’s upcoming album. The actress hasn’t revealed the album’s title yet, but she has said it will be released later in 2024. It will be Waterhouse’s second release following her debut album. I can’t let gowill hit the masses in 2022.

Waterhouse may drop hints about the project when she takes the stage at Coachella this month. She is scheduled to perform at the music festival on April 12th and 19th, marking her first major appearance since the birth of her first child with Pattinson (37). The couple was spotted pushing a stroller in late March, suggesting they welcomed the bundle of joy into the world. On April 4, Waterhouse shared the first photo of her and Pattinson’s “angel.”

Shortly after sharing the picture of her baby, Waterhouse revealed that she had a postpartum period filled with “exhilarating joy, so much laughter, tears, [and so] lots of hormones!” She added that she was proud of “everything my body has accomplished and the kindness and grace I have shown myself during this recovery period.”
