Subaru Special Editions Make Outback and Forester More Luxurious

Subaru has unveiled special editions of its popular series ranger And Outback Crossovers, each taking the base models but adding a number of niceties.

They are due to hit Australian showrooms in mid-May.

Subaru hasn’t said exactly how many of each will be brought here, but has said they will be “limited production” models.

Forester 2.5i Luxury AWD Special Edition

The price for the Forester 2.5i Luxury AWD Special Edition is $39,690 before traveljust $1,000 more than the base 2.5i AWD.

It receives the following features from the flagship variants 2.5iS and Hybrid S:

• Black leather upholstery
• Improved dashboard accents
• Improved center console trim
• Improved door panel

It is only available in Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Horizon Blue Pearl and Magnetic Gray Metallic exterior paint finishes.

Otherwise the equipment corresponds to the base 2.5i. This contains:

• Automatic, cornering-active LED headlights
• LED fog lights
• Rain-sensing wipers
• 6.3 inch multifunction display
• 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
• DAB+ digital radio
• Sound system with six speakers
• Dual zone climate control
• Steering wheel and gearshift lever covered in leather

As with most Foresters, the only powertrain is a 2.5 liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine to produce 136kW of power and 239 Nm of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and all-wheel drive.

Pricing for the 2024 Forester lineup remains unchanged.

Outback AWD Premium Special edition

The Outback AWD Premium Special Edition costs $3,500 more than the base model $47,190 before on-road costsbut adds features from the more expensive Sport and Touring models.

This includes:

• Seat covers with black nappa leather accents
• Heated front seats
• Heated outboard rear seats
• Satellite navigation
• Hands-free power tailgate

This is in addition to the base model Outback AWD’s features, which include:

• 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• DAB+ digital radio
• 4.2-inch instrument display
• Dual zone climate control
• Sound system with six speakers
• Rain-sensing wipers

It is available in all Outback colors except Brilliant Bronze Metallic.

It’s only offered with the entry-level Outback powertrain: a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder producing 138kW and 245Nm, mated to a CVT and all-wheel drive.

Pricing for the 2024 Outback lineup remains unchanged.
