  • The remains of two Lamborghini Murcielagos are being auctioned off on eBay.
  • The super sports cars no longer seem to be repairable; only a few parts are still recognizable.
  • The component stack is located in Germany but can be shipped worldwide.

Parts for supercars tend to be quite expensive and difficult to obtain, increasing the value of wrecked cars with salvageable components. What might look like a pile of junk is actually the remains of not one, but two Lamborghini Murcielago units that are currently for sale on eBay

According to the listing, the parts come from a pre-facelifted LP 580 (yellow) and a more modern LP 640 (white). In both cases, the Lamborghini V12 engines and transmissions are still mounted on the chassis, although an unspecified number of parts are missing.

The photos show that the super sports cars were involved in serious accidents that resulted in irreparable damage to the body and chassis. Although all body panels are missing, the yellow Murcielago appears to be in better condition than the white model, which was cut in half.

The only parts that have retained their original shape are the distinctive five-spoke alloy wheels, the suicide doors and part of the dashboard. There is also a front clip from the white Murcielago, but with cracked fenders and no bumper, hood and headlights

The exceptional range of components is sold by “sportcarsparts-shop” in Munich and is available for worldwide shipping. At the time of writing, with just a few hours left until the end of the auction, the highest bid on eBay is €10,250, about $11,030.

The five-figure bid suggests that someone sees profit potential. Regardless, the successful bidder must make significant efforts to identify and salvage the parts worth saving. Alternatively, the ruined Murcielagos could be used as a work of art, although it’s unlikely anyone would want such a grim display in their living room.

Although the Lamborghini Murciélago came onto the market in 2001, it remains one Pipe Dream car for many petrolheads. This flagship model from Sant’Agata was equipped with a V12 engine in the 2000s, producing 572 hp (427 kW / 580 hp) in the original, 631 hp (471 kW / 640 hp) in the facelift version and up to 661 PS produced horsepower (493 kW / 670 hp) in the SuperVeloce.
