Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match, which will be crucial in the context of playoff qualification, will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday (May 8).
This will be the first time that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2024. The two teams had only played each other three times in the history of the league and went into the game the KL Rahul-led side will be high on confidence having won all their previous three games against Orange Army.
Both SRH and LSG have played great brand of cricket and both are in the race for the playoffs. The Hyderabad based franchise has revolutionized batting in the league while Lucknow has been consistent as always in the league.

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first in the game against SRH. The captain admitted that it was an important game for both teams and stressed that they would focus on one thing each. At the draw he said:
“We will bat first. There are also a few games that were played here. It’s hard to forget how important this game was for both sides, but we’ve played enough cricket. We will focus on one thing at a time, batting first and recording the runs on the board. Playing at home is a difference but we play so much cricket that we know what the conditions will be like. Quinton comes in, Mohsin misses out and there are a few other changes.”
Pat Cummins, on the other hand, also expressed his desire to bat first in the game against LSG. He also spoke about the importance of the game, stating:
“Thanks for the birthday wishes). My body feels like it’s 31. We would have fought too. But we won both ways here so we’re not too upset. Hard to say (a good score) as the score was pretty high .It’s pretty hard (to qualify for the playoffs) and you have to win until the end. We haven’t done it in the last few games and it’s time to change that – Sanvir is coming for Agarwal and Viyaskanth makes his debut replacing Marco.”
