Solera Health Expands Platform to Treat Cardiometabolic Diseases – MedCity News

Solera Health, a technology company, has expanded its HALO platform to include solutions to treat cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and weight management, it announced Tuesday.

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Solera Health is a digital health company that works with payers and employers to help members and employees find point-in-time solutions. The company’s HALO platform, launched in October, allows customers to manage all of their contracted point solutions in one place, whether they are part of the Solera network or using their own contracted solutions. Employees or members can also access all of their benefits through a web-based interface.

New solutions on the HALO platform include Ciba Health, Digbi Health and Wondr Health. Ciba Health is a digital health platform that treats chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, autoimmune diseases and mental disorders. Digbi Health uses genetics and the gut microbiome to treat obesity and digestive problems. Wondr Health offers behavior change programs for weight and obesity control.

“Chronic cardiovascular diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and obesity are among the most common in our country – and yet through effective treatment we can significantly improve quality of life, longevity and the occurrence of other comorbid diseases,” said Dr. Byron Crowe, chief medical officer at Solera Health, in an email. “By expanding our range of solutions for these conditions, we are ensuring we have solutions that address all levels of disease severity and address the preferences and needs of different populations.”

He added that the solutions also focus on lifestyle changes at a time when drugs like GLP-1 are making headlines.

“For far too long, the role of lifestyle modification in managing cardiometabolic health has been undervalued, with much of the focus on medication management,” he said. “The emergence of GLP-1 in the cardiometabolic health landscape creates a new sense of urgency to help people make lasting lifestyle changes, rather than simply resorting to medication right away.” Our expanded range of cardiometabolic programs on HALO offers patients new options “To find a program whose approach resonates with them and gives them the best chance of success, reduces the impact of comorbidities and avoids medications.”

In addition to supporting Solera’s employer and payer customers, the HALO platform also provides benefits to its solutions.

“Joining the HALO platform allows us to close access gaps, transform the lives of millions more people and accelerate the growth of our company,” said Scott Paddock, CEO of Wondr Health, in an email.

The expansion into cardiometabolic diseases comes after Solera Health added virtual specialty care solutions to the HALO platform in January. These solutions included 9amHealth, Vori Health and Oshi Health. Other solutions on the platform include Sword Health for musculoskeletal disorders and Headspace for mental health.

Other companies serving employers and connecting employees to a network of solutions include Accolade and Quantum Health.
