“SKY is One of the Best Batters,” Says Hardik Pandya After Winning an Important IPL 2024 Match Against SRH

The 55th match of IPL 2024 has come to an end and what a game it was. As the game progressed, the probability of either team winning changed over time. However, Mumbai Indians ultimately managed to clinch a win against their opponents Sun Risers Hyderabad.

MI won the toss with their captain opting to bowl first. The decision seemed poorly made considering how well SRH performed as a batter in the first innings.

As the game progressed, MI restricted SRH runs to 173 and managed to score 174 with seven wickets still intact, showing how Mumbai Indians can play a good game.

MI have now jumped up from last place in the points table and have given up their previous place to Gujarat Titans instead. SRH, on the other hand, maintains its position in 4th place.

“I think we gave 10-15 extra runs,” says Pandya

Even though MI won the game, their new captain Hardik Pandya seems to be aiming for even better results. The Indian cricketer in his post-match interview spoke about how he felt MI gave 10-15 runs more to the other team.

“We want to focus on playing good cricket but still think we gave 10-15 extra runs. The way our batters batted was excellent. My bowling, I like to bowl in the right areas, I bowl depending on the situation. Today I bowled in the right areas and it worked. I thought Chawla would have to bowl from the shorter side. He (Chawla) had to be accurate, the margin of error has become less for the bowlers these days,” Pandya said

Pandya praised the POTM of the day and his teammate Surya Kumar Yadav and added, “It’s unbelievable, SKY’s best past is that he puts the bowlers under pressure.” It’s pure confidence, his game has changed, he is one of the best batsmen. He can change a game in a different way, we are lucky to have him (SKY) by our side.”

SKY scores with another century

Today’s Player of the Match award went to MI batsman Suryakumar Yadav. The cricketer, also known as SKY, has made repeated appearances for the Mumbai team.

Not only did Yadav receive praise from his team captain, opposition captain Pat Cummims also praised him for his spectacular innings.

SKY also now has the third highest number of centuries as a lower order batsman, with 4 T20 centuries to his name.
