Benny Blanco showed his romantic side by surprising his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, with a home-cooked steak dinner. Blanco’s culinary skills and heartfelt gesture documented the adorable moment on Instagram on Monday, leaving fans swooning.
“I woke up early this morning and thought, ‘I want to do something nice for my girlfriend,'” Blanco shared with his followers. “I thought, whenever I want to put a smile on her face or have sex, I’ll just make her a steak.”
Blanco walked fans through the process and shared snaps of himself preparing a delicious spread that included perfectly smoked steak, crispy potatoes and a Caesar salad with homemade croutons. “If you don’t make homemade croutons, you’re an idiot,” he joked in one of the clips.
Blanco originally wanted to surprise Gomez at her workplace, but when he found out she was free, he adjusted his plans. Undeterred, he went to her house and found her still sound asleep when she arrived. With a tender touch, Blanco left a handwritten note by her bed and quietly left, leaving the delicious meal behind for her to enjoy.
Gomez later took to her Instagram Stories to share the sweet surprise with her followers, revealing Blanco’s note: “I love you! Sleep well! I made you steak.”
Last monthin which the producer was involved a live stream on TalkShopLive in support of his cookbook, Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friendsand served on Gomez’s favorite food.
“She’s a huge fan of steak, so anything with steak in it,” he shared. “She always asks for steak and she always asks for those little perfect fried potatoes.”
Gomez’s love doesn’t end there. In addition to the steak, the “Eastside” producer shared that she also likes a pasta dish that he highlights in the book.
When he won the Ultimate Boyfriend Award, Blanco said he stopped by the set once Just murders in the building to deliver a delicious gift.
“She loves soup,” he said. “So yesterday she was filming a show and I made a little soup and brought it to her.”
According to her boyfriend, the Selena + Chef The star’s cooking skills aren’t just made for TV. Blanco admitted that the two cook together every day and revealed that there is a chance fans could see it on camera.
“Maybe one day,” said the producer. “We always cook together, not just for her show. She is an incredible cook. We have so much fun. We just eat.”
Gomez, 31, and Blanco, 35, confirmed their romance in December after months of speculation.
Last month, the “Love On” singer opened up about her “beautiful” romance and the security she feels with her boyfriend.
“Without going into too much detail, I think it’s just really important to meet someone who respects you,” Gomez said an interview with Zane Lowe. “And I think it’s really nice to be able to rely on someone who understands the world in which I live. But overall I have to say it’s the safest thing I feel and it’s been really nice and I’ve only grown from it. “It’s great.”
Despite keeping their relationship low-key, Gomez and Blanco have shared sweet moments on Instagram and expressed their love first joint public appearance during the Emmys.
