Sarah Michelle Gellarbirthday present Shannen Doherty is an absolute must.

After wishing Doherty a happy 53rd birthday with a sweet selfie posted via her Instagram Story, Gellar, 46, shared a close-up of the dainty necklace she gifted the actress in honor of her special day.

“My addition,” she captioned the snap, which showed a gold necklace with a nameplate and the word “FK.”

In addition to the swear jewelry Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star revealed Doherty said the couple also enjoyed lunch at Basqueria in Malibu, California, where they appeared to eat paella and shared a beautiful birthday cake decorated with colorful flowers.

“Thank you @theshando for giving me a reason to wear my new jeans that I’m obsessed with,” Gellar wrote on her Instagram Story alongside a selfie of her Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe jeans presented.

Gellar’s cheeky gift to Doherty follows Beverly Hills, 90210 alum revealed on the April 1 episode of her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast that she began “downsizing” her possessions while battling stage IV breast cancer.

“It doesn’t matter if you have a terminal illness or whatever, I believe, yes, of course you should live life to the fullest and enjoy life while you’re alive,” she shared. “But I think it’s the cancer that has really made me take stock of my life and change my priorities, and my priority right now is my mom.”

She continued, “It feels like you’re giving up something that was very special and important to you.” [But] You know it is the right thing to do and that it will give you a sense of peace and calm because you are helping the people you leave behind have a cleaner, easier transition.”

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and went into remission in 2017. In 2020, she revealed that her cancer had returned and progressed to Stage IV, and in November last year, she revealed that the cancer had spread to her bones.

“I’m not done with life yet. I’m not done loving yet,” she said People by the time. “I’m not done creating yet. I’m not done trying to hopefully change things for the better.”

Gellar — who has been friends with Doherty since the ’90s, when they both appeared on WB shows at the same time — has stood by her through her cancer diagnoses over the years.

“She’s a tough woman on the outside, but she’s not necessarily that tough on the inside,” Gellar said exclusively Us weekly in 2020. “And now I think people know that.”
