Sarah Jessica Parker is back I met Gala – and brought one of her best friends with her!
A highly anticipated part of one of fashion’s biggest nights, the And just like that The Star, 59, returned to the annual event this year after her absence in 2023. For her long-awaited return, Parker climbed the legendary steps with her longtime friend. Andy Cohen.
Parker stunned in a structured tea-length birdcage-style dress by Richard Quinn, which she paired with a matching headpiece by Philip Treacy.
“Hand-cut lace is applied across the frame and appears to grow around it, adding a subtle floral element to the design,” says Quinn Fashion of the dress. “The crystals exhibit a certain level of hardness and unbreakability, glittering on the delicate lace beneath.”
Cohen, who opted for a classic black tuxedo and bow tie, joked to ET’s Rachel Smith that it took “five minutes” for his date to prepare for the extravagant evening.
Parker and Cohen previously attended the gala together in 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
The Sex and the City The alum is known to take her appearance very seriously for the annual Met Ball, and after her appearance at the The red-carpeted Costume Institute has made more than ten moves over the years – often with memorable headpieces – she’s no newbie to dressing for the unique soirée.
“I always just think about the subject matter and the impact,” she previously said Fashion. “Whenever I go to the Met, I don’t understand why everyone else hasn’t spent seven to 10 months working on it. I ask myself: How do you not arrive exhausted by the details, like how to get it right?” .. It’s a task and you should interpret it and it should be labor intensive and challenging and it would be as simple as a beautiful dress to find something to wear that evening. That would be a great relief and like a vacation. but that is not the task. The task is the topic.
While she won’t name a favorite of her Met Gala ensembles, her 2013 Giles Deacon and Philip Treacy look is “pretty close.” “You always work very hard. Sometimes it comes together in surprising ways. Sometimes it’s exactly as you planned. Sometimes it is better. “Sometimes you get left behind for a variety of reasons,” she explained Fashion. “And it was just one of those things where everything came at the same time…Everyone did their job.”
This year’s theme is “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion Resurgent.” The Metropolitan Museum of Art describes the associated exhibition as follows: website“It will feature approximately 250 garments and accessories spanning four centuries, visually united by an iconography linked to nature, serving as a metaphor for the fragility and transience of fashion and as a means to explore the cyclical themes of rebirth and renewal.”
This year’s co-chairs include: Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth And Bad bunny. LOEWE Creative Director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Chew are honorary co-chairs.
