Salman Khan House Fire: One of the Accused in the Case Was Found Dead in Mumbai Police Custody

Salman Khan recently fell victim to major security risks when two attackers fired three shots at his Mumbai home, Galaxy Apartments, on April 14, 2024. While everyone remained unhurt, it was later believed that the attack was planned by Lawrence Bishnoi Salman has been on the hit list for a long time, mostly due to the actor’s involvement in the infamous Black Buck case. Furthermore, on April 26, 2024, the attack investigation team arrested the two accused shooters from Punjab.

Anuj Thapan, the suspected gunman in the Salman Khan house attack, died in police custody

According to a recent report in Hindustan Times, Anuj Thapan, one of the suspected shooters in Salman Khan’s house fire, has been found dead in Mumbai Police custody. Preliminary reports suggest that the accused attempted suicide inside the prison. Furthermore, after taking such a drastic step, he was taken to the hospital by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch where he was reportedly found dead on arrival.

Anuj Thapan and his accomplice Sonu Subhash Chander were arrested for supplying arms

Anuj Thapan and Sonu Subhash Chander were two accused who were arrested in Punjab for allegedly supplying weapons to the gunmen who attacked Salman Khan’s house. After Anuj’s suicide, senior police officer PK Jain in an interview with NDTV revealed what could have actually happened and stated:

“All police officers at the police station will be questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). There have been cases where people have died by committing suicide using a noose made of pajamas in prisons… A police officer always guards the prison to ensure that inmates do not escape and to keep an eye on suicide attempts.”

Salman Khan avoids talking about his health after the attack on his house

Immediately after such a horrific incident, Salman Khan, surrounded by a large entourage of security personnel and bodyguards, went back to work and attended an event in Dubai. In one of the videos that went viral from his visit, the actor appears to be dodging a journalist’s question when the journalist asked him about his well-being after the incident. He simply shrugged off the question and said:

“Ho gaya ho gaya.”

Arbaaz Khan wrote an official statement on behalf of the Khan family after the incident

Soon after the news of Salman Khan’s house being attacked by gunmen went viral, the internet was abuzz with messages reporting how various members of the Khan family, including Salman himself and his father Salim Khan, reacted to the frightening incident have. However, it was only later that Arbaaz Khan issued a formal notice, clarifying that earlier reports and spokespeople claiming they were not affected by the attack were baseless. On the contrary, Arbaaz clarified that all members of the Khan family were deeply shocked by the incident and thanked everyone for their prayers and congratulations.
