EXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Russell Crowe (gladiator) will work with him again Confused Director Derrick Borte on the action thriller Bear country.
Crowe will play the aging but formidable club owner Manco Kapak, who was robbed by a masked gunman. Now his desire to sell his club and ride off into the sunset with his girlfriend seems more distant than ever. Cartel bosses are breathing down his neck and a young upstart poses as the new guy in town who really wants to buy the club.
Away, alongside Daniel Forte (American dreamer), wrote the screenplay based on the novel by Thomas Perry, stripes. A Higher Standard will handle sales at the Cannes market.
Mark Fasano (Marlowe) from Nickel City Pictures stars Jeffrey Greenstein (The bricklayer) by A Higher Standard, Mark Bower and Bruno Mustic of Life & Soul Pictures and David Lipper and Robert A. Daly Jr. of the Latigo films, which are co-financed with Gramercy Park Media.
Principal photography on the Nickel City Pictures and A Higher Standard production is scheduled to begin in October on Australia’s Gold Coast.
