Max’s attempt to revive Sex and the City as And Just Like That has made plenty of headlines. HBO declined to comment Us weekly about Ramirez’s departure, but the network confirmed it in March Karen Pittman would not return as Nya Wallace, Miranda’s professor and friend at Columbia Law School. Pittman’s exit was due to scheduling conflicts with her commitments to AppleTV+ The Morning Show and Netflix Forever.

“It was a pleasure to have Karen Pittman play the clever and stunning Professor Nya Wallace in the first two seasons And just like that…” the network said in a statement. “Just as we thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so did others. Due to her involvement with two other streamer series, it has become apparent that it is not possible to film three shows at the same time. Due to production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of the third season of And just like that… Karen and Nya will be missed, and their Max family and fans will all be cheering them on in their other endeavors.”

When it came to what Season 3 will be about, King teased that the Season 2 finale will star Carrie and Seema (Sarita Choudhury) going to Greece was a clue.

“There’s a little, tiny thread of what we think at the end, which is that Seema says, ‘Well, we ran to zero, and where did that get us?’ And she says, ‘I’ll wait five months and you wait five years.’ And Carrie says, ‘Well, maybe I’ll get time out for good behavior,'” King explained during an August 2023 episode of the AJLT podcast. “That would you can only say when you say: ‘It won’t take five years.’ She’s very sweet, but she goes on to say, ‘There will be others.'”
