Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘S Monica García is pregnant with her fifth child.
Garcia, 39, announced the news on the Thursday, April 11, episode of The Viall Files podcast when she was asked what’s next for her after her year-long stint on the Bravo reality show . Garcia initially seemed hesitant to share the announcement before saying she was seven weeks pregnant.
“I literally just found out. … I haven’t told a damn person except my best friend,” she continued.
Garcia explained that she “went to the emergency room for something completely unrelated” and a doctor eventually informed her of the pregnancy. When asked who the father was, Garcia responded shyly.
“I don’t even – I’ve been with him for a year and no one knows who he is,” she said.
The reality star became emotional and told the host Nick Viall and his fiancée, Natalie Joy, that they had created “a safe space” in which she could open up. Garcia noted that she and her mystery man were not trying to get pregnant.
“I shouldn’t be [pregnant],” she added. “Literally I was in the emergency room crying my eyes out. Because I’m like, ‘I’m 39, there’s no way that’s happening.’ “I’m on birth control. There’s no way I should be pregnant. … It’s so scary, but it’s so crazy.”
Garcia is already a mother of four and shares Bri, 18, Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6, with her ex-husband Mike Fowler. The former couple finalized their divorce last year. (The two first separated in 2013 and rekindled their relationship before calling it quits for good.)
Garcia, who revealed at the end of the episode that her boyfriend’s name is Braxton, explained Thursday that the couple met while filming ROSLC. Garcia joined the cast for the show’s fourth season and made one of the most shocking revelations in Housewives history during the bombshell finale in January. She confessed that she contributed to the Salt Lake gossip report “Reality Von Tease” after being confronted by her co-stars. Earlier this year, Andy Cohen confirmed that Garcia will not be returning for Season 5.

“He works in Utah at Wasatch Excursions. He manages the property,” she explained of her boyfriend. “And there it is Heather [Gay] and I shot our snowmobile scene.”
The two started talking “a few weeks later.” While filming at the property, Garcia asked the tour guide if her current boyfriend was single and learned he was “courting” someone else.
“I’m like, ‘What the hell does courting mean?’ I am not there Bridgerton “Time,” she joked. “I do not know what that means.”
While courting is a term often associated with the Mormon faith, Garcia said her husband does not currently practice that religion. “But he used to be [Mormon],” she added. “That’s what we have in common.”
Garcia was ultimately the one who made the first move. “When we had a break, I went up to him and asked, ‘Do you have a girlfriend?'” she remembers. “And he said, ‘No, I’m just going out with someone.'”

After making it clear that he wasn’t in an exclusive relationship, Garcia gave him her number. She later revealed that the couple were 10 years apart in age. (Garcia’s boyfriend is 29.)
Garcia’s new husband has been “so supportive” of her since she found out she was pregnant. “We were both in shock,” she said. “But he was incredible. … He always said, ‘Whatever you decide, I support it.'”
Despite her excitement, Garcia admitted she still has some fears. “I thought I was done [having kids],” she said. “I think being so much older and having a baby is really driving me crazy. Plus, my youngest is 6. I thought I was done. It’s like it’s so much.”
