REVEALED: New York Beauty Company Under Fire for Worker Discrimination | TSR Examined

Beauty brand Ebin New York goes viral – but for all the wrong reasons. Former employees have come forward to accuse the black consumer-focused retailer of discrimination and racism.

Furthermore, they claim that the brand mistreated them on multiple occasions.

Now beauty influencers are calling for a boycott of the brand as consumers demand answers.

The shadow room Justin Carter gets to the bottom of the matter for ‘TSR examined.’

A former employee speaks about her alleged experiences at Ebin New York

According to Carter, Samiyah Gaddy joined the brand’s marketing team in August 2023. Gaddy reportedly expected to be surrounded by other “like-minded people.”

However, she reportedly got a surprise.

“It was a work culture that was rooted in racism” She reportedly told Carter before explaining later. “The office was full of Koreans, but what made me feel good was that I saw a lot of black women in the hallways and stuff.”

Gaddy soon realized that the black women she was seeing were beauty consultants who did not hold leadership positions within the company. However, as she continued her career, she quickly found herself creating viral content for the brand.

But things took a turn one day when she realized that the viral video she had created had been deleted. After inquiring why, Gaddy was reportedly told that the video had received too many negative comments. However, something was wrong.

“[I was] I’m still logged into her TikTok on my computer, so I go… and read the comments, and everyone’s laughing – everyone’s like, ‘Who’s on the marketing team?’ They need a raise'” she remembered.

The allegations against the beauty company are increasing

In addition to the viral praise, commenters questioned whether the brand was Black-owned. Carter said the investigation “touched a nerve” with Ebin’s Korean corporate employees.

“I felt comfortable there. They made me feel comfortable. They spoke to me in English the whole time [but] the next day completely different,” Gaddy explained.

Scroll up to watch Carter explain how Gaddy’s treatment at Ebin “got worse” and she allegedly faced retaliation. Plus, watch as Carter speaks with another former employee about his alleged experience and contacts Ebin New York for a response to the discrimination allegations.
