Manchester United are believed to be fighting one of their biggest rivals to sign a “crazy” Premier League star, according to a new transfer update.

The Red Devils have been linked with numerous potential signings in recent weeks ahead of what promises to be an exciting summer transfer window with Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the helm.
One of those figures is Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong, who played a big role in his team’s Bundesliga championship win this season and offers plenty of quality on the right side. The 23-year-old has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in the 2023/24 competition and could be seen as an improvement over the likes of Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Jarrad Branthwaite has also emerged as a top target for United at the end of the season after having an excellent season for a struggling Everton side in the Premier League, which included scoring their first goal at home to Liverpool in recent Merseyside -Derby belonged.

However, the Japanese star is also wanted by Premier League rivals Manchester City and Arsenal, meaning there could be a tough battle to sign him ahead of next season.
Mitoma could be a fantastic signing from United this summer as he has emerged as such an eye-catching player for Brighton since arriving from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021. Mitoma could even be seen as an upgrade to Rashford this summer should the Englishman, who has scored three goals and registered four assists in the league this season, be moved on.
He also averages 2.1 dribbles per game, compared to 1.5 for the current United man, as well as 1.3 key passes per game (Rashford has 0.8), suggesting he could be a more direct and creative option , which could cause bigger problems for the defenders. or at least excellent competition for the English winger.
One could argue that those numbers would improve if he was surrounded by superior players, and at 26 years old he can still do a lot more.
