Earlier, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had won the toss and elected to bowl first in the game. They didn’t make any major changes to their playing XI, but GT brought Joshua Little and Manav Suthar into their side.

Meanwhile, this is the second time that GT and RCB will face each other in IPL 2024. In their first game, a century from Will Jacks helped RCB to a 9-wicket win with 24 balls remaining against the IPL 2022 champions.

Before the game, Mohammed Siraj’s teammate Glenn Maxwell said that he was looking forward to achieving some success at the end of the competition. He said:

“I’m looking forward to having some success at the end of this tournament. The difficult thing about moving from tournament to tournament is the adaptability you have to have. It’s been a busy year, but I’m so grateful. I’ve had their support throughout.”

Glenn Maxwell also hoped for a great batting show from Royal Challengers Bengaluru and said that he wants to stick to his strengths. Glenn Maxwell explained:

“(Approach with the bat) Hopefully it’s the same as the other night where I don’t have to hit (chuckles) but I was really confident with the things I did in practice, I don’t think that’s the case.” My mindset isn’t quite as clear as it was in the past, and that can happen when you feel like you’re in good shape at the start of the tournament and you push yourself too hard.
