Rare Video: Young Elon Musk Accepts Delivery of Rs 16 Crore Mclaren F1 Hypercar

We all know that Elon Musk is currently the richest man in the world. However, not many people know that he currently does not own a house or any valuable possession. However, this was not always the case and at one point he bought a McLaren F1 hypercar, which at the time cost a million dollars. Currently, this particular hypercar is trading between $15 million and $20 million, which is around Rs 12 to 18 crore. A few years ago, a video of Elon Musk receiving his McLaren F1 was shared online, and now that video has resurfaced online.

This particular video of Elon Musk accepting the McLaren F1 with his then-girlfriend was shared by CNN on its YouTube channel. In this short video, the billionaire was seen picking up his silver McLaren F1 in front of his house. It begins with a shot of Elon driving his McLaren F1 in front of the camera, sitting in the middle seat in front of the steering wheel (McLaren F1 has three seats with a central driving position). This particular video is from 1999 when Elon Musk sold his company PayPal.

After selling his company, Elon bought this McLaren F1, which he says in the video is one of only 62 cars in the world. He also notes in the video that many people view their car as a behavioral characteristic of a person. He then adds that this is, however, consistent with his behavior. In the video you can see him answering a call shortly before handing over his silver McLaren F1. When his girlfriend asks him what she thinks about him taking delivery of a $1 million car, she replies that it’s “decadent.” He is next seen watching the car get off the trailer in which it was delivered.

As mentioned above, the McLaren F1 is a three-seat hypercar. It featured a central driver’s seat and is considered one of the most unique and magnificent vehicles of all time. It was designed and introduced by legendary car designer Gordon Murray in 1992 and only 67 road models of this car were made. There are several other variants of this supercar including the F1 GTRs, the F1 LM and the F1 GT, which total 106 units of the F1.

This unique hypercar was powered by a massive 6.1 liter BMW V12 engine that produced a total of 627 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. It was equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and the McLaren F1 was known for completing the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed was also 323 km/h. Notably, when released, the F1 set the record as the world’s fastest production car, which was later broken by Bugatti with its Veyron hypercar.
