On Sunday, Kareena Kapoor Khan was roped in as the official national ambassador of UNICEF India. The actress took to social media to share photos from the ceremony along with a heartfelt message of thanks. She was cheered on by the NGO’s global ambassador, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who shared her joy as she welcomed her colleague on board in her new role.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared photos of her signing the official documents as the Brand Ambassador of UNICEF India and said, “An emotional day for me… It is an honor to be appointed as the National Ambassador of UNICEF India.” Collaborating with @unicefindia over the last 10 years has been truly enriching and enlightening. I am proud of the work we have done and reaffirm my commitment to being a voice for the promotion and protection of children’s rights and an equal future for all children. A special thank you goes to the entire team who work tirelessly for the rights of women and children across the country. I am inspired every day and look forward to further collaboration. I am delighted to welcome Gauranshi, Kartik, Vinisha and Nahid as our newest youth advocates to the UNICEF India family. I would also like to congratulate UNICEF India and celebrate 75 years of the incredible impact they have had on the lives of children in India. I promise to continue to be a voice #ForEveryChild.”
Along with the post, she also released a video of her speech in which she assured that she would do everything in her power to fulfill the new responsibilities and duties of her new role. Priyanka Chopra Jonas posted the same on her Instagram story and said, “Welcome to the family, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Very well deserved (emoji).” In response, Kareena added, “Thanks PCJ <3 See you soon."
On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are busy with their Bollywood and international commitments. While Kareena is gearing up for films like Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Murders, Singham again Priyanka is busy with Ajay Devgn among others Heads of State And The bluff in Europe.
