Prince William Gives a Loving Nod to Kate Middleton During His Royal Outing

Prince William have thought about it Princess Kate Middleton on his last trip.

The 41-year-old Prince of Wales, who surprised students at St. Michael’s Church of England High School on Thursday, April 25, shared that he was “sorry” his wife couldn’t be there.

“She would have liked to,” he remarked, according to the Daily Mail. Kate, 42, is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy after discovering she had cancer during abdominal surgery in January.

William was on hand to celebrate the work at St Michael’s, which has launched student-led initiatives to support their mental health. The royal’s visit was thanks to student Freddie Hadley, who sent the prince a personal letter inviting him to the school. In his note, Freddie explained that every week a group of boys aged 11 to 14 meet to develop ideas and projects that shine a spotlight on men’s mental health.

When he arrived on Thursday, William said to him: “Well done, I’m here now. Your letter worked. I’m sorry I couldn’t come to see you in October.”

The couple, along with other children, recorded a segment for the school’s radio station and the prince was asked to share “dad jokes.” He told knock jokes, which he said were Princess Charlotte’s favorite jokes.

William returned to royal duties last week after taking time off following Kate’s cancer diagnosis. The family has been keeping a low profile since Kate revealed her medical issues, although she and William took time to thank well-wishers in March.

“The Prince and Princess are both very touched by the kind messages from the people here in the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth and around the world in response to Her Royal Highness’s message,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “They are extremely touched by the public’s warmth and support and are grateful for their understanding of their request for privacy during this time.”

On his first public return, William visited the food distribution organization Surplus to Supper, which delivers, sorts and repackages unused food to community groups. He later visited a youth center that receives surplus food and distributes it to those in need.

In one Social media clip As part of the event, a volunteer gave William get well cards for Kate. “Oh, a few cards, you’re very nice,” he replied. The Telegraph reported Thursday that the woman told William to take care of his wife, to which he replied, “I will.”
