Prince Harry was joined by a friendly face at the BetterUp Uplift Summit 2024.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, took a photo with Mindy KalingA friend of Meghan Markle, at the event in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 10, where he moderated a panel discussion titled “Beyond Burnout: Transforming C-Level Stress into Strength.” The focus of the discussion was the topic of burnout in the workplace.

The couple smiled and posed for a photo shared via Harry and Meghan’s website Sussex.com. Kaling, 44, wore a black, white and red patterned cardigan and gray jeans, while Harry kept it smart with a gray blazer, white shirt and black trousers.

Kaling reportedly chimed in during Harry’s panel while speaking to the chairman of BetterUp’s Center for Purpose & Performance, organizational psychologist Dr. Adam Grantand Cisco’s Chief People Officer, Kelly Jones. (Harry has been BetterUp’s Chief Impact Officer since 2021.)

When asked what she’s been “thinking about” lately, Kaling responded with reference to her children – daughter Katherine, 6, and son Spencer, 3. “Gentle parenting, I’m rethinking it,” she said via Hello! Magazine. “It’s something like that in a lot of Los Angeles, New York, and some progressive cities, and sometimes you just have to yell at your kids… so I’m reconsidering it!”

According to Sussex.com, during Wednesday’s panel discussion, Harry and his guests “addressed the psychological toll of leading through uncertainty” by sharing “personal anecdotes, evidence-based practices and forward-thinking guidelines aimed at helping leaders to be successful amidst the pressures of today’s world and modern corporate life.”

Kaling is one of many celebrities who have supported Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from senior royal duties in 2020. She later appeared as a guest on Meghan’s podcast, Archetypes, where they discussed the insecurities they both experienced growing up.

Meghan, 42, described her childhood self as an “ugly duckling” and added: “I never had anyone to sit with at lunch. I was always a bit of a loner and really shy and didn’t know where I belonged.”

During the 2022 podcast episode, Meghan explained that she learned to gain confidence and make friends by joining clubs and activities.
