Prices for the BMW M4 CS 2025: More Power, Less Weight for a Hot Coupe

The BMW M4 was put on a diet and muscled up for return C.Sconfirmed to be rejoining the Australian squad after a five-year break.

BMW Australia has announced that just 50 examples of the M4 CS will be available in local showrooms, each priced at $254,900 before on-road costs. A start date has not yet been confirmed.

That’s almost $70,000 more than the M4 Competition Coupe’s $186,500 before on-road price – although it’s a saving compared to the $303,900 of the harder-core M4 CSL, of which just 30 examples made it to Australia in 2022 .

BMW gave the M4 a facelift at the beginning of the year, although the coupe has been without a CS class since the previous generation.

The M4 CS’s 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine now features revised twin turbochargers, allowing for a 15kW increase in power output 405kW of power and 650 Nm Torque.

Drive continues to be sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and the increase in power is a factor in the 0.1 second time saving on the M4 CS’s 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.4 seconds.

Thanks to the standard M Driver’s Package, the M4 CS’s top speed is limited to 305 km/h.

A lightweight exhaust and other weight-saving measures such as a bonnet, splitter and diffuser made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and other components ensure that the M4 CS weighs 1,755 kg, making it 20 kg lighter than the M4 Competition.

Other CFRP parts include mirror caps, rear spoiler, bucket seats, center console, shift paddles and interior trim parts.

BMW claims the M4 CS was able to lap the 20.832km Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 21.989 seconds – about four seconds slower than the M4 CSL, but almost seven seconds quicker than the M3 CS.

It’s not clear whether this time was achieved with optional parts, which include a front strut brace (standard on Australian examples), upgraded carbon-ceramic brakes (US$19,000 extra locally) and “ultra-track tires”. , which are available in place of the standard semi-slicker, track-focused rubber.

A set of bespoke forged V-spoke M alloy wheels can be ordered in either matt gold bronze or black and measure 19 and 20 inches in diameter at the front and rear respectively.

The wheels are just one of the visual features that set the M4 CS apart from the base coupe, paired with exclusive paint finishes (Riviera Blue and Frozen Isle of Man Green Metallic), exposed carbon fiber elements, red accents and yellow daytime running lights.
