Price and Specifications of the LDV T60 Max Plus 2024: Chinese Ute Receives Extensive Technical and Safety Upgrade

The LDV T60 ute has received a significant upgrade, bringing with it a new, high-tech interior, different suspension and finally autonomous emergency braking.

Called 2024 LDV T60 Max Plusthe revised ute fits above the existing T60 Max range.

The price is $45,990 drive away for Australian Business Number (ABN) holders in manual form, with the car costing an additional $2000. LDV also offers a Mega Tub version priced at $49,490 drive away for ABN holders.

It remains under the skin 2.0 liters Four-cylinder Bi-turbo diesel as T60 Max models, producing 160kW of power and 500 Nm of torque, although LDV says it has remapped the engine software “to ensure a more linear delivery of this power”.

The T60 Max’s leaf-spring rear suspension has been replaced with a multi-link suspension, which LDV says results in better control, a more comfortable ride and higher payload and ground clearance ratings.

The payload is 800 kg in the T60 Max Plus Mega Tub, 840 kg in the T60 Max Plus with manual transmission and 830 kg in the T60 Max Plus automatic. That’s an increase over the Luxe and Mega Tub versions of the regular T60 Max, which range from 730kg to 750kg. The ground clearance is 5 mm to 220 mm.

Also new to the T60 range is electric power steering with selectable standard and sport modes, as well as an electric parking brake.

The T60 Max Plus heralds the long-awaited introduction of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) to LDV’s ute range, making Mahindra the only brand not to offer the feature in the segment.

However, the manual model lacks AEB as well as adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning. All three are standard on automatic models.

Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system – up from the 10.25-inch unit in the T60 Max and now with Android Auto – as well as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

These are housed in the same assembly for a comprehensive look, and the infotainment uses a new operating system.

However, LDV hasn’t just limited itself to a larger screen, the interior also gets a fundamentally new look. There’s a new, more driver-focused dashboard and, on car models, a column-mounted shifter.

This allowed LDV to tilt the center console up on car models, with a wireless charging pad on top and a new storage space underneath. LDV has not released any images of the interior of the T60 Max Plus manual.

There are three USB ports up front, while LDV promises a quieter interior thanks to additional sound insulation between the engine and firewall.

The T60 Max Plus range builds on the T60 Max Luxe in terms of standard features, meaning features such as leather upholstery, heated front seats and a surround-view camera.

The equipment includes features such as a lockable tailgate and electrically folding, heated exterior mirrors.

Externally, it differs from the conventional T60 Max models with glossy black trim on parts such as the radiator grille, door handles and exterior mirrors.

The T60 Max Plus meets the Euro 5 emissions standard and has a 73 liter fuel tank.

Dimensions

The unbraked and braked towing capacity for the entire T60 Max Plus range, as well as the T60 Max, is 750 kg and 3,000 kg respectively.

Maintenance and warranty

The LDV T60 Max Plus is supported by one Seven year, 200,000 km guarantee.

Security

The LDV T60 range has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP based on tests carried out in 2017. This assessment expires at the end of this year.

Standard safety equipment includes:
