“Poor Things” Co-producer Stillking Films is Partnering with Indie Band Twentyfour Seven Through Spanish Production Arm Ánima Stillking

EXCLUSIVE: Stillking Films, the production company behind titles like that of Yorgos Lanthimos Poor things has teamed up with production house Twentyfour Seven to create Málaga-based production company Ánima Stillking.

Ánima Stillking will be led by Silvia Aráez, who will take on the role of CEO. Aráez was previously CEO of Fresco Film. The company’s leadership team also includes executive producer María Cabello, whose credits include Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Netflix’s Fool Me Once, Black Mirror and Sony’s The Blacklist, and CFO Cristina Armario, also previously CFO by Fresco Film.

In addition to its headquarters in Málaga, Ánima Stillking has fully staffed offices in the Canary Islands, Barcelona, ​​Madrid, the Basque Country and Palma de Mallorca. The company is already working on a number of projects, including several projects in production with Netflix and what they’re calling a “major anthology series for AMC.” The company said it has also secured commitments from financiers to produce a feature film, which is currently in production.

“We all came to the table with our own extensive backgrounds: myself, María and CFO Cristina Armario have worked as producers on many international films in Spain, including managing tax refunds,” Aráez said of the launch this morning. “We are confident in our capabilities, together with Stillking and Twenty-Four Seven we are even stronger in the partnership, as shown by the exciting list we have already started building.”

Ánima Stillking said its focus will be on overseeing all aspects of production, structuring local tax refunds, pan-European financing options and location services, leveraging an “extensive rolldeck of local production and government contacts.”
