Fans on Twitter reacted after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered their sixth win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 28 runs in the 53rd match of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharamsala on Sunday.
Chennai Super Kings lost Ajinkya Rahane (9) again at the start and it wasn’t a great start for them. But after that, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (32) and Daryl Mitchell (30) brought their team back into the game at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharamsala.
The duo added 57 runs and it seemed like Chennai Super Kings were ready for a big total. However, the Punjab Kings made a solid comeback after that, picking up wickets at regular intervals and dominating the game in the middle phase.
Ravindra Jadeja (43) played an important innings for his team, taking them to a total of 167 for nine. For the Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar picked three wickets each.
The batting performance was not great for the Punjab Kings as Tushar Deshpande picked two wickets in the second over, defeating Jonny Bairstow (7) and Rilee Rossouw. The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association’s home in Dharamsala came under immense pressure
Prabhsimran Singh (30) and Shashank Singh (27) kept Punjab in the hunt with their 53-run stand. However, nothing more after that and their style as Chennai Super Kings bowlers was seen all over the batters
They picked wickets regularly and restricted the Punjab Kings to a total of 139 runs. They won the game by 28 runs, winning their sixth game of the tournament and staying in the hunt for the playoffs.
