Tom Daley won gold for Great Britain at Tokyo 2020

Tom Daley will compete in his fifth Olympic Games this summer after Team GB selected its first eight divers for Paris 2024.

Daley will accompany Noah Williams in the 10m synchro individual events as he attempts to defend the Olympic title he won in Tokyo with then-partner Matty Lee.

Paris 2024 will take place 16 years after Daley’s Olympic debut in Beijing 2008 as a 14-year-old.

Since becoming a global talent in 2007, Daley has been a multiple medalist at major competitions. He is a five-time European champion, four-time world champion and Olympic champion, as well as three bronze medalists.

While Daley will compete in his fifth Olympic Games in Paris, 3m springboard diver Jack Laugher will compete in his fourth Games.

Andrea Spendolini-Sireix, daughter of First Dates star, chef and restaurateur Fred Sireix, will be attending her second Olympics in 2024 after a hugely successful year so far in which she has already won a team gold and two individual bronze medals at the World Championships in January participate.

Team GB Chef de Mission Mark England said: “There is a fantastic mix of youth and experience in the squad and I am delighted to welcome Olympic champions Jack and Tom back to Team GB for a fourth and fifth game respectively.”

“Congratulations in particular to Tom, who becomes the first British diver to compete in five Olympic Games, a remarkable achievement.”
