Most Affordable 7-Seater Mahindra XUV700 MX Base Variant: First Walkaround Video

Mahindra recently introduced a 7-seater version for the entry-level MX variant of the popular XUV700 SUV. The SUV is priced at Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for petrol and Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant. Production of the SUV has begun and is already available at dealers. Here we have a video that gives us a detailed walkthrough of the newly launched MX 7-seater variant.

The video was shared by XploreWithVarun on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger shows the exterior and interior of the SUV as well as the features. He starts at the front. Since it is the base variant, the XUV700 does not have many features. The SUV gets a glossy black front grille with vertical brushed aluminum slats. The headlights are halogen and there are no dual-function LED daytime running lights and fog lights.

Fog lights are provided and can be purchased by the customer as an accessory from the dealer. As far as the side view is concerned, the SUV gets steel rims with hubcaps. The hubcaps were missing from the 5-seater MX variant. Mahindra has now included them in the updated version. The ORVMs are finished in glossy black and have integrated indicators. In addition, the ORVMs are electrically adjustable.

The flush door handles can be seen here, and the car is also offered with central locking and a folding key. We don’t see any roof rails on this base variant XUV700. As we move towards the back, we see the XUV700 logo on the tailgate. There is no MX branding on the tailgate. The car does not have a rear window defroster, a windshield wiper or a washer system. There is an integrated roof spoiler with integrated brake light.

The vlogger then opens the boot to view the storage space. The main difference here is the third row of seats. If all three rows of seats are folded up, there is not enough space in the trunk for luggage. However, when you fold it down there is plenty of space. The car has split second-row seats with a reclining function and a center armrest.

The 5-seater version lacked the armrest and reclining function. The seats are covered in fabric and the cabin has a two-tone design. The interior looks quite spacious and the car comes with features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, analogue instrument cluster with color MID, manual air conditioning and so on.

The XUV700 MX variant is not completely reduced to the essentials in terms of features, which makes it a good value product in this segment. Mahindra offers the XUV700 MX variant with both petrol and diesel engines. Both engines are only offered with a manual transmission. For automatic versions you have to resort to more expensive AX variants.

The petrol version of the XUV700 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from mStallion. The diesel version of the XUV700 uses a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged engine. The diesel engine produces less power and torque in the lower variants compared to the higher AX models.

Mahindra recently launched the updated XUV 3XO. You can find a detailed test report on the first trip on our website. Mahindra is also gearing up to launch the Thar five-door.
