Mohammad Hafeez names his favorite teams that will shine in the tournament

Former Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Hafeez recently shared his insights about the upcoming T20 World Cup. Hafeez highlighted three teams that he believes will perform exceptionally well in the tournament, excluding his own national team, Pakistan.

Hafeez explained his selection and pointed out the strengths of each team. He did the math India have the tactical advantage and the right team formation to excel in Caribbean conditions. As a host country West Indies naturally have a home advantage and Hafeez pointed out that familiarity with the local conditions could significantly improve their performance. He also designated England as a strong contender capable of performing well on the Caribbean courts.

“Look, I would say the same thing again: If I said what my heart wants, I would choose Pakistan first. If I consider the tactics and the right formation, I think India can perform better in the West Indies.” Hafeez said, according to Cricket Pakistan.

“The West Indies themselves could do better there and alongside them England could do really well.” he added.

Hafeez explains why Pakistan will face difficulties

Despite his loyalty to Pakistan, Hafeez expressed concerns about the national team’s prospects in the upcoming T20 World Cup. He pointed out several critical issues that could affect their performance. According to Hafeez, lack of proper team building and clear mindset are significant obstacles. He emphasized the importance of clearly defined roles within the team, which he said is currently lacking.

“Look, as a Pakistani, my heart will always be with Pakistan, regardless of their performance. But given the facts, I think the Pakistani team will struggle. The only reason is that they are not ready in terms of proper training and mindset. Also, their roles are not yet defined like a controlled team.” Hafeez explained.
