Miami GP Sprint: Max Verstappen Beats Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton is Penalized and Lando Norris is Eliminated

Max Verstappen beat Charles Leclerc to win a dramatic Miami GP sprint on Saturday.

Verstappen started from pole position and was challenged by Leclerc on the first lap, but remained in front before a safety car was called for Lando Norris, who was involved in a first corner incident also involving Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll were involved.

Sergio Perez finished third after overtaking Daniel Ricciardo, who celebrated his best result of the season so far in fourth.

Ricciardo withstood pressure from Carlos Sainz and Oscar Piastri throughout the 100km sprint, while Nico Hülkenberg gave Haas more points with seventh place and Yuki Tsunoda inherited the final point in eighth after Hamilton was fined for speeding after the race had received a penalty in the pit lane.

Hamilton was involved in a dramatic altercation with Kevin Magnussen, who earned three penalties to help Haas team-mate Hulkenberg.
