Varun Chakravarthy talks about KKR’s team meetings

He also said that the KKR players and the team management held a meeting to find solutions after the Punjab Kings (PBKS) managed to score a record 262 wickets in their last IPL match of 2024 where they suffered an 8-wicket defeat at the same venue to Kolkata.

Chakravarthy explained: “In any case, the last game (against PBKS) was a very hard pill to swallow. We had a lot of discussions with management, everyone got involved. We spoke to the coaches – Carl Crowe, Bharat Arun sir, (Gautam) Gambhir, Chandrakant (Pandit) sir, Abhishek Nair.”

Meanwhile, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer praised Chakravarthy for his three-wicket effort against DC and said the way he bowled at Eden Gardens was simply incredible. Iyer stated after the game: “He hasn’t been at his best in the last few games. He assessed the wicket and gave us input. The way he performed today was just great.”

What is noteworthy is that with this massive win, KKR has strengthened its position in the IPL 2024 points table. They are currently only behind league leaders Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the standings. However, KKR has a better NRR than Rajasthan Royals (RR) but they have 16 points from 9 games and Kolkata has 12 points from the same number of games in the tournament.
