Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana is in the middle of a tough situation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The pacer was fined for violating the code of conduct in a match against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Harshit Rana has been fined 100% of his match fees by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for his antics in the match against Delhi Capitals on Monday (April 29). As if that wasn’t enough, he was also banned for one game by the governing body.
Harshit Rana was suspended for his sending off against Abishek Porel. The fast bowler hit the batter’s rump and was about to celebrate his trademark flying kiss. However, he stopped midway when he realized that he was fined for what he did to Mayank Agarwal in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
This means that Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Harshit Rana will miss the match against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams is scheduled to take place on Friday (May 3rd) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The Indian Premier League has released an official statement regarding Harshit Rana’s development. The statement said the fast bowler admitted the offense and accepted the match referee’s sanction. Since this was his second offense, the Pacer was suspended for one game.
“Mr. Harshit Rana, Bowler, Kolkata Knight Riders, was fined 100 percent of his match fees and suspended for one match for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 47 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL). 2024 vs Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 29, 2024.
Rana has committed a Level 1 offense under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted the offense and accepted the match referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding. The player was previously penalized under the same level and article of the IPL Code of Conduct.” Read the statement.
