Rana suffered a finger injury during KKR’s IPL 2024 opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23, forcing him to miss the two-time IPL champions’ last eight matches. He had scored just nine runs in KKR’s narrow four-run win over SRH at the Eden Gardens.
However, KKR remains optimistic about Rana’s speedy recovery, as he has been an important cog in her middle class over the years. He had a great season last season where he scored 413 runs in 14 games while leading the Kolkata franchise. However, KKR finished seventh last year.
As for the ongoing IPL 2024, KKR is in great form and currently sits second in the standings with 12 points from the nine matches in the tournament so far. They are just behind league leaders Rajasthan Royals, who have 16 points from nine games in the league.
