author Megan Miranda would be happy about a film or TV adaptation of her latest novel, daughter of mineand she wants Callum Turner play the lead role – just like that Us.
“When I write, I really don’t [cast the book] “For the most part because I feel like they’re this unique character that shows up on the page,” Miranda explained Us weekly while promoting the book, which was released on Tuesday, April 1st. “Well, I don’t generally think about it, but it will be later.”
The author went on to say that she would “watch a TV show or a movie” and see an actor portraying one of her characters.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, I could definitely see this person having these qualities,'” Miranda continued. “I think it’s less about what they look like in my head and more about them being able to play the different personalities that they have.”
Miranda said she also likes to keep an “open mind” – and that’s exactly what I experienced back then Us helped her fancast the novel.

When it came to casting Hazel, the author threw around names like Florence Pugh or Daisy Edgar Jones. Us set Sophie Turner into the metaphorical ring.
Miranda had a very specific idea of who she wanted to play Gage, the older brother newly promoted to Mirror Lake – and Us I couldn’t help but agree.

None of Miranda’s novels have been adapted yet, but the author is totally up for it – and daughter of mine is her first choice.
“I always say my most recent because that’s what’s freshest in my mind,” she shared when asked. “I think the idea of bringing that world and that environment to life would be really exciting.”
