Maruti Brezza CNG Gets Major Security Update: Details

Maruti Suzuki launched the Brezza CNG back in March 2023. At that time, the company offered this subcompact SUV with numerous safety features. These included electronic stability control (ESC) and hill start assist (HSA). However, some time later, due to unforeseen reasons, the company stopped offering the Brezza CNG with these safety features. However, a leaked document has now revealed that these features will once again be offered on the Brezza CNG.

According to V3 Cars, the exact date when these safety features will be reintroduced to the Brezza CNG has not been announced. However, it is expected that they could reach production version in mid to late May. Furthermore, it is expected that there will be no increase in the price of Brezza CNG.

Currently, the Brezza CNG LXI variant is priced at Rs 9.29 lakh. There are also three other CNG variants of the Brezza. The company offers it in VXI, ZXI and ZXI Dual-Tone variants. The price of these variants is 10.65, 12.10 and 12.24 lakh rupees respectively.

As for the powertrain, the Brezza CNG draws power from its proven K-Series 1.5-litre Dual Jet Dual VVT engine. This engine in the SUV produces a maximum power of 86.6 hp at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 121.5 Nm at 4200 rpm.

The company claims that the powertrain offers excellent fuel efficiency of 25.51 km/kg. The Brezza S-CNG comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and the model will be available in three different variants – LXi, VXi and ZXi, along with dual-tone color options.

Brezza Mild Hybrid relaunched

Back in January this year, soon after the launch of the new Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon facelift, Maruti Suzuki also re-launched the Brezza ZXI and ZXI Plus in the country. Both variants are currently priced at Rs 11.15 lakh and Rs 12.58 lakh respectively.

For those who may not know, Maruti Suzuki previously offered the mild hybrid option with the Brezza. However, this technology was no longer offered in the popular subcompact SUV in July 2022. Currently, the Vitara Brezza has been replaced by the Tata Nexon as the best-selling subcompact SUV in the country.
